You’re Not Over Workshop

Eight sessions, a small cohort, and a plan for what comes next.

A facilitated virtual workshop for finding your identity, purpose, and momentum in your next chapter, built on the book Your Job Is Over, You’re Not! and led by Derinda Ehrlich.

A path to what comes next

The Workshop

A Path to Who You Are When Your Job Ends

Most of us put real rigor into planning our finances and very little into planning the moment a career changes shape. When that moment arrives, the questions that matter show up together: who you are without the title, what to do with everything you know, and how to build momentum when nothing is pushing you forward.

This workshop takes the framework from Your Job Is Over, You’re Not! and turns it into working sessions. Terry Cain and I wrote the book around one idea, repurposement, which means carrying the judgment you built over a career into whatever comes next. In the workshop you walk that path with a small group, one session at a time, with room to think out loud and people to think with.

The Eight Sessions

Release, Rebuild, Repurpose

The sessions move through three arcs. Each session takes up one topic, and each arc closes before the next begins.

Release

Sessions 1 to 3

Name what has ended, give it room, and notice the rules you still follow that no longer apply.

  1. 1Transition to Identity
  2. 2Grief Before Growth
  3. 3Release & Permission

Rebuild

Sessions 4 to 6

Evaluate, assess, and explore ways to build what comes next.

  1. 4What Matters, What Fits
  2. 5Community & Connection
  3. 6Authority & Experiment

Repurpose

Sessions 7 and 8

Renewed identity, purpose, and the momentum to pursue what comes next.

  1. 7Living the Design
  2. 8My Repurposement

Every transition begins with an ending. That is why we begin with Release.

How It Works

Built for Real Conversation

Eight live sessions

Each session runs 90 minutes, live on Zoom with cameras on, and the group meets for eight sessions in all.

A cohort of nine

The group stays small so every voice gets real airtime, and you come to know the people working alongside you.

Small-group breakouts

Every session includes time in breakout rooms of three or fewer, where the conversation goes deeper than it can with a full group.

My Repurposement Journal

A fillable journal goes with the workshop, with space for your assessments and for your own free-form writing. It is yours to keep after the last session.

Invited into the conversation

You will be asked to join in, and you can always pass without explanation. What is shared in the room stays in the room.

Preparation and follow-through

Each session has three parts: preparing on your own, meeting together, and carrying one question into the days between. Preparation means reading sections of the book and writing in your journal. The first session’s preparation takes about two hours. If you miss a session, you can request a one-on-one makeup session.

A private community for your cohort

Each cohort has its own closed chat community, open by invitation only, where participants can talk and keep the conversation going. It stays open for 14 days after your final session.

Who It’s For

Where You Are Right Now

The workshop suits people who are planning for a significant transition or already in the middle of one: a role that has ended or is about to, a long corporate run coming to a close, or a career that no longer fits and needs a new shape. You bring decades of experience. The workshop adds structure, a small group, and time to work out how to use what you know.

If you are not sure it fits your situation, send me a note and we will talk it through.

Your Facilitator

Derinda Ehrlich

I built my career in global operations leadership, including years at Motorola and Avnet, followed by a decade as a Prosci Executive Instructor and Principal Change Advisor. Today I coach people through career transitions one on one and advise organizations on change and AI adoption through Camelback Canyon Group. I hold a Purdue engineering degree, a Kellogg MBA, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and an NLI coaching credential.

The workshop draws on all of that and on the book Terry Cain and I wrote from our own experience and from interviews with people who have made the transition themselves.
